The Raipur district administration has initiated property attachment proceedings against notorious brothers Virendra and Rohit Tomar, who have been absconding for the past two months. The move followed a Sessions Court order on Wednesday, rejecting their anticipatory bail plea and granting approval for attachment of their properties.

A joint team comprising SDM Nand Kumar Choubey, revenue officers, and police personnel reached Bhathagaon locality and attached the brothers’ residence, popularly known as Sai Villa, along with adjoining land. Officials confirmed the property measures nearly 3,000 square feet, equally shared between the two accused. Notices of attachment were formally pasted on the premises.

According to officials, paperwork for the attachment of three more land parcels in and around Raipur owned by the Tomar brothers has also been initiated, with field-level action expected in the coming days. Authorities underlined that the process is being executed in phases to ensure legal compliance and effective enforcement. Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Lal Umed Singh had earlier declared a cash reward of Rs 5,000 each for the arrest of the absconding brothers. Despite sustained efforts, the duo has evaded arrest, prompting authorities to adopt coercive measures to compel their surrender.

The Tomar brothers, who face multiple criminal investigations, have remained on the run, leading to intensified police surveillance and administrative pressure. “Property attachment is a deterrent step. Further assets will be seized if they fail to appear before law,” an official said. Security was stepped up during the action to prevent any resistance, with police teams maintaining presence throughout the operation. Authorities have also appealed to the public to share credible information about the whereabouts of the accused with law enforcement
