Crime Branch nabs three drug peddlers, seizes 5,100 narcotic pills; medical store sealed

The Bhopal Police Crime Branch has achieved a major success in its campaign against drug trafficking. Police have arrested three suspects involved in the illicit drug trade and seized 5,100 tablets of the restricted drug Nitravet-10, with an estimated value of Rs 25,000. Two of the arrested individuals have extensive criminal records.

acting on the directives of
Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra, the Crime Branch team initiated a search for illegal drug traffickers in the city. The Crime Branch received a tip-off that a young man was seen in suspicious circumstances near Ambedkar Ground in the TT Nagar area. The team set up a perimeter and apprehended the suspect, identified as Anas Abdul alias Kallu. They found 150 tablets of Nitravet in his possession.
During interrogation, Anas revealed that he had met Vishal alias Raftar Bitore in jail. After his release, Vishal encouraged him to start selling the narcotic tablets. Anas disclosed that he had borrowed Rs 3,000 from Vishal to purchase the drugs.
Based on Anas’s information, police arrested Vishal near Kasturba Hospital. A search of his person also yielded 150 tablets. Vishal confessed that he obtained these tablets from a man named Ravi Sahu, who operates a store called Maa Medical Store in Barkhedi. Medical store owner also arrested, shop sealed: Police subsequently arrested Ravi Sahu. A search of his medical store led to the recovery of 210 tablets of Nitravet-10 from a drawer.
Ravi Sahu was arrested, and his medical store has been sealed.
A case has been registered under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act.
Of the arrested suspects, Anas has nearly two dozen cases registered against him in the Kamla Nagar and TT Nagar police station areas, including charges under the Excise Act, Arms Act, and assault. Vishal also has multiple cases registered against him at the Govindpura police station, including charges related to excise, gambling, and assault. Police stated that the accused were purchasing these restricted medicines at a low cost and selling them at high prices to make illegal profits. Police are now searching for other potential suspects in this case.
