Police seized 412 grams of heroin with an estimated market value of Rs 1 crore

Raipur Police dismantled a major drug supply network with links to Pakistan via Punjab, arresting nine individuals, including the alleged international smuggler from Punjab and the main kingpin in Raipur. Police seized 412 grams of heroin with an estimated market value of Rs 1 crore. Acting on specific intelligence, a special squad was formed to analyse international phone numbers and bank accounts used for transactions. After continuous surveillance, a joint team from the Crime Branch and Tikrapara Police Station raided a house in Kamal Vihar Sector 04 on August 3. During the raid, three individuals were apprehended, Lovejeet Singh alias Bunty from Punjab, Suvit Shrivastava, and Ashwan Chandravanshi from Raipur.

A total of 412.87 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession. Preliminary investigations indicated that the house of accused Suvit Shrivastava in Kamal Vihar Sector 04 served as the central hub for the drug supply network in Raipur. Crucially, inputs suggest that the main supplier, Lovejeet Singh alias Bunty, a 39-year-old resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab, obtained the heroin from across the border in Pakistan. He is believed to have used multiple international virtual mobile numbers to evade law enforcement agencies. The smugglers employed sophisticated methods to operate, including using net calling from international numbers to avoid detection. Heroin was distributed to customers through video sharing and location sharing, and transactions worth crores of rupees were routed through “mule accounts” to obscure the money trail.

Those arrested include Pariphal Raghav alias Luv, Aniket Maladhre, Manoj Seth, Mukesh Singh, Junaid Khan alias Saif Chila, and Rajwinder Singh alias Raju. In addition to the heroin, police seized various mobile phones, a Creta car (CG 04 QH 7491), a weighing machine, silver roll paper, burnt notes used for consuming heroin, ATM cards, and cheque books from the accused. A case has been registered against all arrested individuals under Crime No. 600/25, Sections 21(C) and 29 of the NDPS Act at Tikrapara Police Station, Raipur. Authorities are conducting detailed interrogations of the arrested accused to identify and apprehend other individuals connected to this extensive drug network.
