Chaos in the Assembly, contradictory statements by ministers

The proceedings of the Assembly on Tuesday marked with the heated Question Hour and various bills, including Metropolitan Area Planning and Development Bill and petitions, were presented amid Opposition’s uproar over the officer’s fake degree case. During the call attention motion, Congress MLA and former minister Lakhan Ghanghoria raised the issue of appointments made on the basis of fake educational qualifications in Jabalpur . In this serious matter, he termed the educational qualification of an officer posted at Victoria Hospital in Jabalpur as fake. Even after the Education Minister confirmed the fake degree on this subject, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Kumar Shukla denied it and cited the investigation report, in which he did not call the degree of the concerned officer fake. All the Congress MLAs including Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar accused the Government of biased behaviour regarding the contradictory attitude of the Government in the matter.

The Leader of Opposition said that the minister deliberately does not want to take action in this matter, because the concerned officer is probably getting protection from the government. Dissatisfied with the evasive and insensitive reply of the Government, the Congress Legislature Party walked out of the House under the leadership of Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar and demanding that fair and prompt action be taken in such sensitive cases. Other bills amendment to Madhya Pradesh Public Development Act, Motor Vehicle Taxation , Amendment Bill, Shops and Establishment Act Amendment, Madhya Pradesh Legal Aid Repeal Bill and Amendment in Registration Act and Stamp Act were presented and discussed. The issue of tampering with the historical identity by opening a hotel in Gwalior Fort echoed in the Assembly during the call attention motion. MLAs raised demands for basic amenities in their respective Assembly. Proceeding began with expressing condolences on the death of former Union Minister Shibu Soren.
