Atharva Siddhant and Deepak win karate golds

THE trio of Atharva Mankar, Siddhant Manohare and Deepak Aagarkar won gold medals in the Inter-School Hingna Taluka Karate Tournament that that concluded at GH Raisoni Public School, Hingna recently. All the players won their respective final bouts in the Under-19 boys group in different weight categories. Shangrila School’s Atharva emerged champion in 54kg; Siddhant of ZP Shala Amarnagar won title in 82kg while Jijamata Convent’s Deepak excelled in 50kg group. The tournament witnessed participation from approximately 200 contestants, including 25 students from various Hingna Taluka schools, competing across three age groups: Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19, in both boys’ and girls’ categories.
 
The competition was held under supervision of Chief Referee Sanjay Solanki who was assisted by Shyam Verma and Vishal Rajput. Dr Sambhaji Bhosle, Director of Physical Education, Nagpur; Lambat and Shabbir Shaha, Meenakshi Bhatia, Principal, GH Raisoni Public School; Dr Inderjeet Singh Randhawa, Sports Officer, Raisoni Education; Lalsingh Yadav, Bhawana Yeutkar, School PTI were prominently present. Under the guidance of Sunil Raisoni, Chairman of Raisoni Education and Palakh Raisoni, Director of Raisoni Schools, a dedicated team of Reena Chaube, Sudheer Thakre, Sonu Kamde, Ashish Shukla, Roshani Joshi, and Kalpana Tomar worked hard for success of the event. Under-17 Medal Winners (read as first, second and weight category) Boys: Sarthak Wadaskar, Ankit Shah (40kg); Ayush Gupta, Madhvesh Chaturkar (45kg); Priyanshu Gomase, Arman Telang (50kg); Abhijit Kurvekar, Rohan Meshram (54kg); Shourya Khobragade, Parth Nivant (58kg); Lekhraj Nehare, Raunak Singh (62kg); Vansh Kukde, Ryan Durugkar (66kg); Akhilesh Itankar, Gitanshu Bhale (70kg); Ritesh Dongre (74kg). Girls: Shruti Raut (36kg), Shreya Shriwas, Vanshika Waske (40kg); Buraneshwari Agrawal, Simran Shah (44kg); Himanshi Ghode, Suman Phulare (48kg); Nandini Wahane, Bhargavi Charde (52kg); Poonam Chouragade, Niyati Belkhode (56kg); Nisha Madankar, Shravani Mahure (60kg).
