From the arrival of a majestic elephant from Ujjain to a divine recreation of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, each pandal is offering something truly memorable for devotees

Nagpur’s Ganeshotsav celebrations have once again been elevated to new heights, with several mandals presenting themes of exceptional devotion and creativity. From the arrival of a majestic elephant from Ujjain to a divine recreation of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, each pandal is offering something truly memorable for devotees. Shivshambhu Ganesh Mandal has brought Shyam, an elephant from Ujjain, on whose back the Ganesh idol made its grand entry, while rituals such as the Mahakal Aarti and the Ganga Aarti are set to enthral worshippers. Revati Nagar’s Besa Cha Chintamani has themed its pandal around the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, with Shri Ganesha in the avatar of Shri Rama, accompanied by Sita, Laxman, and Hanuman. Meanwhile, Panchamukhi Ganesh Utsav Mandal, popularly known as ‘Jaripatka Cha Raja’, has recreated Vrindavan’s Prem Mandir with striking depictions of Krishna’s leelas, including a majestic idol of Krishna lifting Govardhan. Collectively, these mandals are redefining Nagpur’s Ganeshotsav experience.

A glimpse into Ujjain

This year’s Ganeshotsav by Shivshambhu Ganesh Mandal promises a spiritual grandeur rarely witnessed before. From Ujjain, an elephant named Shyam has been specially brought to Nagpur, and the Ganesh idol made a majestic arrival seated upon his back. The highlight of the celebrations will be the Mahakal Aarti, performed in replica of Ujjain’s revered tradition by pandits from Ujjain itself. Adding to the divine atmosphere, priests from Benaras and the Ganga Sewa Nidhi will perform the renowned Ganga Aarti, bringing together the essence of two great spiritual cities. Devotees are eagerly awaiting this magnificent blend of rituals and devotion.

A journey to Ayodhya

Revati Nagar Sarvajanik Mandal’s ‘Besa Cha Chintamani’ now in its seventh year, has chosen a deeply inspiring theme for Ganeshotsav 2025, Ayodhya Ram Mandir. The mandal’s beautifully designed divine tent recreates the sacred aura of Ayodhya, with intricate replicas of the temple. The idol of Shri Ganesha is uniquely presented in the avatar of Shri Ram, accompanied by figures of Sita, Laxman, and Hanuman, making the pandal a centre of attraction. The mandal’s heartfelt effort to blend Ganpati celebrations with the spirit of Ram Mandir has drawn enthusiastic response, making it one of the most visited pandals this year.

A sojourn with Prem Mandir, Vrindavan

For the past 16 years, Panchamukhi Ganesh Utsav Mandal has captured hearts with its grandeur, and this year’s theme is set to enchant devotees further. The mandal has recreated Vrindavan’s iconic Prem Mandir, bringing the divine beauty of Shri Krishna’s life to Nagpur. Huge portraits depicting Krishna’s journey at different stages form the central attraction, offering a spiritual glimpse into his leelas. Adding to the magnificence, a striking idol of Krishna lifting the Govardhan mountain with the tip of his little finger stands alongside Lord Ganesha. This fusion of devotion and artistry makes Jaripatka Cha Raja a must-visit pandal.
