IN A unanimous decision, MLC Sandip Joshi was re-elected as President of the Nagpur District Basketball Association (NDBA) during the organisation’s general meeting. The meeting also granted him the authority to form a new executive committee. As the newly appointed President, Joshi said, “We will work together with everyone for the overall development of common players and the game of basketball, not just stopping at clubs or associations.” The Maharashtra State Basketball Association has decided to provide cash prizes to players in every tournament. Additionally, players who win national tournaments will receive a reward of Rs 50,000. As the President of Maharashtra State Basketball Association, Joshi plans to allocate approximately Rs 1 crore from his MLC fund to support the development of basketball in the state.

 

The meeting was attended by several notable personalities including Adv Abhay Kaple, Ramesh Bakshi, Shatrughna Gokhale, Bhavesh Kuchanwar, Anup Rajurkar, Dattu Khare, Suresh Bhukre, Mahesh Updeo, Pranay Ghate, Satish Shinde, Arun Dani and Abhay Chorghade. During the meeting, six new clubs were granted affiliation with the Nagpur District Basketball Association.
