Under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s ‘good governance’ initiative, Project Chhanv is being hailed as a major success, providing a unique platform for the health and well-being of government officials and employees in the capital, Raipur. During a health camp held at the Indoor Stadium, officials praised the project as an innovative step toward holistic welfare. Secretary to the Chief Minister, Rahul Bhagat, who was present at the event, stated that Project Chhanv has created a new model of ‘good governance’ by providing health checkups and essential services to government employees under a single roof. He noted that the project, which offers a wide range of free tests including mammography for women, could be replicated in other districts to benefit a larger population of employees and their families. Bhagat also appreciated district administration’s ‘Project Nano,’ which uses drones for spraying fertilisers, a move he believes will connect farmers with modern agricultural practices. Chief Editor Dr Himanshu Dwivedi echoed this sentiment, calling Project Chhanv true testament to good governance.

“Innovative work on the ground will prove to be a milestone for society,” he said, adding that such efforts are not merely for headlines, but are fundamental to fulfilling the government’s promise of welfare. Raipur Collector Dr Gaurav Singh announced that more than 6,500 government employees have already benefited from the project. On this single day alone, over 1,000 officials and their family members received health checkups. He said that the camp’s integrated approach provides not only medical consultations and free medicines but also a one-stop-shop for civic services such as Aadhaar and ration card applications. Employees who attended the camp expressed their gratitude for the initiative. Nandani Chandrakar, an employee from Arang block, said she was able to get her BP, sugar, and blood tests done for free. Sushila Nirmalkar, an Anganwadi assistant, praised the project for providing comprehensive tests, including sonography and mammography, all at one location.

Project Chhanv is a weekly initiative designed to serve government employees who often have little time for their personal health due to busy work schedules. It offers a wide array of health services, including basic checkups, consultations with specialists, and essential medicines. The initiative also aims to raise awareness about nutrition and disease prevention. The event was attended by several senior officials, including SSP Dr Lal Umed Singh and District Panchayat CEO Kumar Biswaranjan.
