CHHATTISGARH Cadet Kickboxers excelled in the National Kickboxing Championship winning 43 medals including 11 gold. The team secured overall forth position in the overall national ranking with 11 gold, 12 silver and 20 bronze medals in the event.
Tamil Nadu Kickboxing Association hosted the event under the aegis of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai from August 27 to 31. Contest in Children and Cadet category for boys and girls were conducted.
More than 1,400 athletes representing various states across the country participated.
A team of 69 sub-junior players from Chhattisgarh participated in the multiple disciplines including Point Fighting, Light Contact, Kick Light, Full Contact, Low Kick, K1, Musical Forms and Creative Forms across different weight categories. The team included players from Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, Surguja, Mungeli and other districts, accompanied by officials Prabhat Sahu, Lokita Chauhan, Manish Bag, Sarvar Ekka, Aman Soni, Suraj Sahu and Varun Bag.
The outstanding achievement of the state team was widely appreciated. President of Chhattisgarh Kickboxing Association Chhaganlal Mundra, Working President Tarkesh Mishra, General Secretary Akash Gurudiwan along with other office-bearers
congratulated the kickboxing team members and accompanying officials for excellent performance at the national level.
