Collector Raghavendra Singh and Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay inspected the preparations for Makar Sankranti festival at the banks of river Narmada, Gaurighat on Friday. During the visit, officers discussed all necessary preparations and issued required instructions to the concerned officials to ensure smooth management during the festival. Collector and the SP also held discussions regarding the classes being run by Parag Diwan for the education of children in the Gaurighat area.

 

Collector directed that a dedicated location be identified for the classes, a shed be constructed there and all essential facilities be provided to support the educational initiative. Inspecting the overall arrangements at Gaurighat, Collector and SP emphasized that a large number of devotees visit the site on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. Therefore, they instructed officials to ensure proper crowd management, cleanliness, safety and other necessary amenities. Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash Ahirwar, along with other concerned officers was present during the inspection.
