The first National Rover-Ranger Jamboree has begun at Dudhli village in Balod district on Friday. Governor Ramen Deka inaugurated the event. Governor Deka formally inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp and releasing a balloon into the sky. The guests also released the Jamboree magazine and a new badge. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the Jamboree is not just a camp but a celebration of unity, diversity, brotherhood and common objectives. School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, National President of Bharat Scouts and Guides Dr Anil Jain, Chief State Commissioner. Inderjit Singh Khalsa, national and state-level officials and a large number of Rover-Rangers from different states of the country were present in the programme.
 
Governor Deka said that Scout-Guide inspires the youth to develop leadership skills, discipline and move forward on the path of success. He urged the youth to contribute at least one positive act to society and play an active role in nation-building. This National Rover-Ranger Jamboree, being held for the first time in the country, is a matter of pride for the entire nation. In his address, School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav said that Scout-Guide is a powerful medium to connect the youth with life values, discipline and social responsibilities.
 
Dr KK Khandelwal, Chief National Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, described this first National Rover Ranger Jamboree event in village Dudhli as historic and very important. Chief State Commissioner Inderjeet Singh Khalsa said that this event is another important achievement in the golden chapter of Chhattisgarh. Participants from 33 states are participating in the event. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will attend the concluding ceremony.
