Dy CM Devda urges Centre to boost capital expenditure for State in 2026-27 Budget

Finance Minister Jagdish Devda,
in a pre-budget meeting chaired
by Union Finance Minister
Nirmala Sitharaman in New
Delhi on Saturday, urged the
Central Government to increase
capital expenditure for the state
in the 2026-27 budget.
Highlighting the positive outcomes of the special capital assistance scheme launched in FY
2020-21, he noted that Madhya
Pradesh’s capital expenditure
rose from Rs 56,539 crore in FY
2023-24 to Rs 67,441 crore in FY
2024-25, a 19% increase, and is
estimated at Rs 82,513 crore for
FY 2025-26, a 22% rise over the
previous year.
He requested additional allocation to accelerate
ongoing infrastructure projects
