BUILDING permit approval letters were distributed to 32 eligible beneficiaries from wards
under Zone 3 of the Raipur
Municipal Corporation on
Monday, bringing smiles to the
faces of residents preparing to
begin construction of their
own homes.
The letters were handed over
by Mayor Meenal Choubey in
the presence of Zone 3
Chairperson Sadhana Pramod
Sahu, MIC members Santosh
Seema Sahu and Amar Gidwani,
and corporators Pushpa Rohit
Sahu and Rajesh Gupta.
The distribution programme
was held in the mayor’s chamber at the Raipur Municipal
Corporation headquarters. The
beneficiaries have been selected under the “More Land, More
House” component of the
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana,
which is being implemented at
a rapid pace in the municipal
area as part of efforts to provide
permanent housing to eligible
families.
The Pradhan Mantri Awas
Yojana is being implemented in
Raipur under the leadership of
the State Government, with the
municipal corporation ensuring
timely execution and delivery of
benefits. Through this scheme,
eligible beneficiaries are being
supported to construct their own
houses, fulfilling the objective of
affordable housing for all.
During the programme, Mayor
Meenal Choubey said that the
municipal corporation is committed to ensuring that the
benefits of public welfare
schemes reach eligible citizens
without delay.
She said that providing building permits is a crucial step that enables beneficiaries to start construction work
and move closer to owning a permanent home.

Deputy Engineer (Town
Planning) Akshay Bhardwaj were
also present during the distribution ceremony. After receiving
the approval letters, beneficiaries expressed happiness and
relief, stating that the permits
would now allow them to begin
construction work under the
housing scheme.
