DEPUTY Chief Minister Jagdish
Devda on Monday inspected the
120 MLD Water Filter Plant located at Ramnagra and lauded its
management, cleanliness and
technical efficiency. He described
the facility as “remarkable” and
said it has the potential to become
a model for Madhya Pradesh.
During inspection, Devda said
that Jabalpur’s water supply system and sewerage treatment
plant management have reached
a level worth showcasing.
He
informed officials that he would
discuss the “Jabalpur Model” with
Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav,
indicating that similar systems
could be adopted in other cities
of the state.
Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh
briefed the Deputy CM on the
technical functioning of the
Ramnagra plant. He said the
plant is equipped with five
pumps of 500 kilowatt capacity
each. Of these, three pumps operate continuously to ensure uninterrupted water supply, while
two pumps are kept in reserve
for emergency situations.
Water
from the Ramnagra plant is supplied to 28 high capacity overhead tanks, from where drinking water reaches residents of 36
wards in the city.
The Deputy CM inspected the
in-house laboratory, where samples of raw water, treated water
from the plant and water collected from different parts of the
city are regularly tested. Officials
apprised Devda of chemical and
physical testing process.
He also
reviewed recent reports. The
results showed that the water
supplied meets all prescribed
quality standards.
