RMC Commissioner directs strict recoveryof outstanding revenue, warns of action

RAIPUR Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vishwadeep on Thursday held an important review meeting with officers of the Revenue Department and Town Planning Department at the Municipal Corporation headquarters and issued clear instructions to ensure strict recovery of outstanding revenue. During the meeting, the Commissioner said that SIR work is the top priority of the Municipal Corporation and that revenue collection is equally important. He directed all Zone Commissioners and Zone Assistant Revenue Officers to ensure maximum revenue collection while effectively carrying out SIR-related responsibilities.
 
Vishwadeep made it clear that revenue must be collected as per the targets fixed by the Municipal Corporation under all circumstances. He warned that accountability would be fixed and strict action would be taken against concerned officers and employees if revenue recovery targets are not achieved. He emphasized that negligence in revenue collection will not be tolerated at any level. The Commissioner also instructed engineers of the Town Planning Department to expedite e-challan proceedings related to construction and demolition (C&D) waste, use of green nets, road obstructions, and other related violations.
 
He directed Zone Commissioners and Zone Assistant Revenue Officers to take strict action, as per rules, to recover outstanding dues from major defaulters and housing societies within their respective zones. He further instructed all Zone Commissioners to give special focus to revenue collection work and to review progress on a daily basis to ensure consistent recovery. The review meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner (Revenue) Krishna Khatik, Town Planner Abhash Mishra, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Jagriti Sahu, along with all Zone Commissioners, Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Assistant Revenue Officers.
