A VIBRANT city where main
markets Sarafa and Rajwada
remains lively even at midnight
is taking a deep dive in sports
spirit this week. On Sunday, the
third and last match of threematch ODI series was played
between India and New Zealand
at Holkar Stadium in Indore.
Although the match was to start
at 1.30 pm but since morning 8
am the fans started gathering
outside the stadium.
Many were seen dressed in
blue chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki
Jai’. Outside the stadium too the
atmosphere was filled with hot
debates over the match and batting order. At Rajwada Chowk,
fans were thrilled whil talking
about Rohit Sharma’s double
century. A city of foodies and
sports aficionado were eagerly
waiting to catch a glimpse of
their favourite players from their
bus windows or while entering
the stadium.
As New Zealand won an exciting series final match, fans who
were praying for an India win
were slightly disappointed.
They continued waving the
tricolour and raised slogans of
‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘India-India’,
‘Kohli is the best’.
After a stunning knock by Virat
Kohli and Harshit Rana, the
Holkar Stadium was reverberating with chants of “Kohli,
Kohli…” and “Wah Ranaji…”
cheers.
