IN THIS ongoing National Road Safety Month, National
Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Chhattisgarh is organising many awareness programmes and campaigns at different national highways in the State. In this order, an
awareness campaign was organised recently at RaipurBilaspur National Highway and distributed helmets to twowheeler riders and encouraged them to follow road safety guidelines.
In this campaign, Pradeep Kumar Lal, Regional Officer
of NHAI said that apart from following road safety guidelines, it is the responsibility of every person to adopt it in
their life.
They do not ignore basic safety rules such as wear
of helmets and seat belts at car during driving. With the
help of these small safety rules, they can save themselves
from any kind of road mishap.
Project Director of Project Implementation Unit, Bilaspur,
Mukesh Kumar stated that in national highways, along with
modern techniques, awareness campaigns are organising
on regular basis to aware people about safety rules and
should adopt them during driving, so that the rate of road
accidents can be brought to the minimum level.
As part of this campaign, the department has also organised mock drill of live accident demonstration. With it, they
threw lights on ambulance reach to carry accident victim
to the hospital at the earliest. Later, a blood donation was
also organised at event where over 50 people donated
their blood.
It is learnt that, NHAI will organise such road safety
awareness campaigns at toll plaza, national highways and
all major roads in this entire month and in all of the events,
they are appealing people to wear helmets, use seat belts
in car and ride the vehicle at the limited speed level.
