CHHATTISGARH Cabinet has on
Wednesday approved
Chhattisgarh Excise Policy for
the financial year 2026-27 and
authorized the State Excise
Department to carry out
all the related proceedings of the
Excise Policy.
Talking to mediapersons at the
Auditorium of the Culture
Department in capital, Deputy
Chief Minister Arun Sao said that
the 42nd cabinet meeting was
held under the chairmanship of
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at
the state capital on Wednesday,
in which various important decisions were taken.
The Cabinet has approved the
proposal for allotment of approximately 40 acres of land earmarked at Sector-18, Nava Raipur
Atal Nagar on lease basis for 90
years to Shri Vile Parle Kelavani
Mandal (SVKM) for setting up its
Narsee Monjee Institute of
Management Studies to establish a high-quality educational
institution in the new capital city.
SVKM is a renowned institution, which is working in the field
of education since the year 1934
and currently running 30 educational institutions and it provides education to more than
one lakh students every year from
pre-primary to doctoral programmes.
This institute has got
52nd rank in NIRF University
Ranking in the year 2025. The
establishment of this national
level institute in Nava Raipur will
further strengthen modern and
quality education in the state, he
added. The Cabinet has decided
to sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Software
Technology Parks of India (STPI)
for setting up four new entrepreneurship centres in Nava
Raipur Atal Nagar.
This MoU will be important in
promoting the IT/ITES industry
and technology start-up ecosystem in State.
The STPI operates
68 centres, of which 60 are located in tier-2 and tier-3 cities of
India. The STPI in collaboration
with the Department of
Electronics Information
Technology, Government of
Chhattisgarh will promote 133
domain-specific start-ups in the
next three to five years through
AI, MedTech (herbal medicine
and forest product based), Smart
City and Smart Agri
Entrepreneurship Centres.
The State government will set up an Electronics System Design and Development (ESDM) Centre through STPI to support students, entrepreneurs, researchers and industries in developing prototypes of ESDM products, which will provide all support to 30 to 40 hardware, startups and MSMEs per year. To ensure availability of quality testing facilities in all government health institutions of the state, to strengthen the existing resources and to increase the number of tests as per the prescribed standards, the Cabinet has decided for effective operation of labs in the district hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres of State, said the Deputy Chief Minister.
