Jamul Municipal Council clears devpt proposals worth Rs 11 cr

 A GENERAL body meeting of Jamul Municipal Council was held on Monday, where all councillors unanimously approved several proposals related to development works in the town. Council President Ishwar Singh Thakur said the members rose above party lines and agreed on every proposal in the interest of Jamul’s overall development. He assured residents that development works worth around Rs 11 crore will be implemented in the municipal area in the coming period.
 
During the meeting, approval was given for projects under various heads, including Rs 2.50 crore under state-sponsored schemes, Rs 1.23 crore for solid waste management, and Rs 86 lakh for drinking water management. Proposals of Rs 1.27 crore for air quality improvement, Rs 1.05 crore under the 15th Finance Commission’s Million Plus City scheme, Rs 2.50 crore for 37 development works across Jamul, and Rs 1 crore for infrastructure development will be sent to the government for final approval.
 
Tenders for approved works are expected to be issued soon. Chief Municipal Officer Seema Bakshi gave a detailed presentation on ward-wise development works and informed councillors that efforts are being made to speed up projects delayed due to administrative or technical reasons. She said further discussions will be held once guidance is received from the government.
 
The meeting was attended by Vice President Sunita Channevar, councillors Sabiha Karim Khan, Khamhan Thakur, Rekhram Banchhor, Sarojni Chandrakar, Deepak Gupta, Sanjay Deshlahra, Ashwini Sahu, Seema Yadav, Rampyari Verma, Kavita Bishwal, K Raju, Chumman Verma, Durga Vaishnav, Tileshwar Devangan, Shanti Tandon, MP representative Haldhar Sahu, and several senior officials.
