With Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning a comfortable majority to run the House in Nagpur Municipal Corporation, it is crystal clear that the Mayor will be of this party. As no other party will be fielding its candidate, the Mayor is most likely to be elected unopposed. Meanwhile, most parties have already submitted their post-election details to Divisional Commissioner Vijayalaxmi Bidari as a part of procedure.

BJP is likely to submit it on January 27 or 28. Every party has to submit the information of its elected members with the administration. Unlike some other Municipal Corporation where due to fractured mandate, things have become complicated, Nagpur voters have given clear majority to BJP. BJP got 102 seats while Congress got 34 seats. No other party could reach double digit mark. AIMIM stood third major party with 6 seats, IUML followed it with 4 seats. Shiv Sena (UBT) got two, while Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar), Shiv Sena (Shinde), BSP got one seat each. In the draw, Nagpur got Woman (General) category. It means any elected woman
