Under the ongoing ‘Operation Narcos’ initiative, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Nagpur Division foiled a major inter-state drug smuggling attempt on January 22. Acting on a confidential tip-off, the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB) conducted a rigorous search on Train No. 12810 (Howrah-Mumbai Mail) between Khat and Nagpur. and 06 in coach A-1.
 
The search revealed 60.750 kilogram of ganja, with an estimated market value of Rs 30,37,500. Two individuals from Rohtas, Bihar, identified as Chandeshwar Paswan (41) and Bikki Kumar (19), claimed ownership of the bags and confessed to illegal transportation. Both suspects were handed over to GRP Itwari, and a case has been registered under the NDPS Act. The RPF continues its intensive checks on tobacco, liquor and narcotics to ensure passenger safety and has urged citizens to report suspicious items via the 139 helpline.
