Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Sunday said that Ujjain has emerged as a city of enthusiasm, energy and joy, making it a cultural hub of celebrations and traditions. He made these remarks while inaugurating the Raahgiri Anand Utsav at Kothi Road in Ujjain. The event was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp and performing shankhnaad as per Sanatan tradition. Thousands of citizens participated in the Raahgiri, enjoying morning walks, yoga sessions, traditional sports, cultural performances and recreational activities. More than 70 organisations welcomed and felicitated the Chief Minister from various stages along the route.
At the conclusion of the event, CM Dr. Yadav honoured farmers by presenting shawls and shriphal. He announced that Raahgiri–2026 has been dedicated to farmers, calling them the true sons of the soil and the backbone of the nation. He said the state government is continuously working for farmers’ welfare and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for standing firmly in support of farmers’ interests. The Chief Minister said that Simhastha 2028 will be organised in Ujjain and will provide a major opportunity to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage and Sanatan traditions on the global stage. At the beginning of the programme, personnel from the BSF, CRPF and Madhya Pradesh Police jointly rendered a ceremonial salute to the Chief Minister.
