A powerful display of patriotism and social unity marked the inauguration of ‘Bira Ji Ke Angna’ at Arya Nagar, Kohka, in Bhilai, where a 110-foot-high national flag was unfurled in the presence of a huge public
gathering. The landmark community facility, developed under the aegis of the Sarva Samaj Kalyan Samiti (SSKS), witnessed an overwhelming turnout, turning the event into a memorable civic and cultural moment for the region.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Sarva Samaj Kalyan Samiti president Inderjeet Singh Chotu, whose initiative has been widely viewed as a meaningful contribution towards inclusive community infrastructure. The programme began with the ribbon-cutting of the newly constructed dome shed, jointly performed by Kulwant Kaur and Inderjeet Singh Chotu, formally dedicating the facility to public use. Representatives of various social groups were handed over the keys of the facility.
The highlight of the programme followed soon after, as the towering tricolour was ceremonially hoisted.
As the flag rose to its full height, the crowd erupted in applause and patriotic slogans, with thousands standing in respectful silence, capturing the moment and sharing in a collective sense of national pride. The flag hoisting emerged as the emotional centrepiece of the event, drawing people from across Kohka and nearby areas. The newly built dome shed at Bira Ji Ke Angna has been dedicated to social service and will be made available free of cost for economically weaker and middle-income families. The facility has been earmarked for weddings, social gatherings, Ramayan recitals, Bhagwat Katha and other religious and cultural programmes, addressing a long-standing community need in the area.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of local residents, senior citizens and social workers, creating an atmosphere of celebration, unity and social harmony. Locals described the initiative as a new chapter in community service in Kohka, praising the effort for social cohesion while combining civic utility with a strong message of collective pride.
