The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at the Bharatiya Janata Party divisional office. As per tradition, BJP District President Ratnesh Sonkar unfurled the national flag on the occasion. The party leaders, workers sang the National Anthem and performed aarti of Bharat Mata. Addressing party workers, Sonkar said that on the occasion of the Republic Day everyone should take a pledge to preserve and strengthen the Republic. He said Republic Day is a reminder to respect democratic values and uphold the rights and principles enshrined in the Constitution.

 

The day underlines that every citizen has an important role to play in nation-building. Sonkar said Republic Day is not only a celebration of India’s rich culture, unity and diversity, but also an occasion to remember the sacrifices of revolutionaries and freedom fighters. He said it is a time to express love and respect for the nation and reflect on one’s duties as a responsible citizen.
