CITY-BASED hotelier Sanjay Gupta, Managing Director of Hotel Ashok and Resorts Ltd, has been appointed as a member on the Tourism Development Study Committee of Maharashtra. The Tourism Development Study Committee of Maharasthra has been formed as per the directions of the Governor of Maharashtra. The committee’s key focus will on promoting and development of tourism in the state. The committee will study tourism policies of other states in the country from the past 12 years.

 

The committee will provide inputs on how to generate more employment, attract investments in the tourism sector. Gupta is actively promoting investment in the tourism sector, specifically focusing on the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. He is also encouraging industry leaders to take advantage of the recently introduced tourism policies and is offering support through the AID team for clarification and implementation. Gupta believes that the tourism sector in Vidarbha offers huge growth opportunities with proper tourism policies. Gupta has thanked Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on getting appointed on the committee.
