BIS Nagpur Branch Office conducts ‘Manak Manthan’

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Nagpur Branch Office has organised a ‘Manak Manthan’, a technical meeting, on Wednesday at The Seven Hotel in the city. At the outset Raunak Sukhadeve, Scientist-D / Joint Director welcomed the audience and the BIS Manak Geet audio was played. Later, he explained the objective of Manak Manthan. He spoke about IS 14587 : 2025 Prelaminated Medium Density Fibre Boards of Wood and Other Lignocellulosic Materials - Specification & draft standard CED/22/26193 Selection, Installation and Maintenance of Automatic Fire Detection and Alarm System-Code of Practice. He also gave a detailed presentation on the topic.
 
Following the presentation, the revised standard was discussed among the participants and suggestions were made by them on standard based on their practical experience and academic knowledge. Several comments received from the participants and the same are being compiled for further necessary actions on the Indian Standards. Moreover, all the participants were informed about the registration and downloading of the BIS standards. All the manufacturers were also informed about the procedure to obtain the BIS licence and they were also encouraged to apply for BIS licence. Overall the programme was very fruitful and the participants requested to carry out more such programs in future which is being considered by BIS Nagpur Branch Office. The programme was successfully conducted under the guidance of Hemant B Ade, Director & Head, Nagpur Branch Office.
