Senior office-bearers and members of Congress party, Seva Dal and representatives of social organisations paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his martyrdom day at Town Hall, on Friday. They remembered his ideals, life values and contribution to society.
The leaders paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and took a pledge to follow his ideals in their personal and social lives. Speakers highlighted that only by walking on the path of truth, non-violence, harmony and national service can the country become strong and progressive.

They urged citizens to imbibe Gandhian principles in daily life to bring positive change in society. Senior leaders said Gandhi’s message was not limited to politics but extended to social and humanitarian values. Congressmen said Gandhi’s life teaches that meaningful social change is possible by remaining firm on the right path. They appealed to the youth to draw inspiration from Gandhian ideals and adopt values of justice, tolerance and service. The tribute meeting concluded with the national anthem and all those present took pledge to follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.
