THE Durg Municipal
Corporation area needs to
replace a 600 mm valve
near the Malviya Nagar
complex as such water supply will be affected from the
evening of January 5,
(Monday) until the morning
of January 6. On Monday
the 24 MLD filter will be
shut down after the morning water supply to carry
out this maintenance work, which will affect water supply to the areas connected to
the tanks.
It is noteworthy that the rising pipeline supplying water to the tanks in Malviya Nagar, Shankar Nala, the
area across the railway tracks, Shani Chari Bazaar, Shankar
Nagar, and Girdhari Nagar has a major leak, and the valve
needs to be replaced at that location. A shutdown was implemented a fortnight ago for this purpose, but due to a large
leak in the pipeline and lack of time, the work could not be
completed.
The Water Department is now fully prepared
to carry out this work with a complete shutdown on January
5th. Mayor Alka Baghmare, Commissioner Sumit Agarwal,
and Water Department In-charge Leena Dinesh Dewangan
have appealed to the citizens of the affected areas that the
corporation will provide water through tankers in the affected areas as per demand and requirement.
Therefore, citizens are requested to store sufficient water in advance. The
affected areas include Padmanabhpur Tank: Ward No. 43,
44, 45, 46, Shankar Nagar Tank: Ward No. 10, 11, 12, 13,
Shakti Nagar Tank: Ward No. 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, Girdhari
Nagar Water Tank: Ward No. 9, 5, Hanuman Nagar Water
Tank: Ward No. 19, 20, 21, Transport Nagar Water Tank: Ward
No. 16, Shanichari Bazar Water Tank: Ward No. 30, 31, 32,
33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38 (Partial).
