A minor argument over a girlfriend took a violent turn late Saturday night and led to the murder of a 22-year-old youth and injuries to four others in Parvati Nagar under the Kalamna police station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Ritik Savanlal Patle (22), a resident of Parvati Nagar. The police have arrested six accused, including one minor, in connection with the crime. The arrested accused are Isha Hatim Ansari (55), his sons Mustafa alias Golu Ansari (28), Lukman Ansari (22), Sahil Ansari (20), Salauddin Ansari (19), and one juvenile.
According to the police, the incident took place around 11.30 pm at Parvati Nagar square. Ritik Patle and his friend Tanshu Nagpure were chatting outside their house when Mustafa alias Golu arrived and insisted that they drink alcohol with him. When both refused, Golu became angry and allegedly forced them to go with him on his motorcycle to Kanji House square in Mangalwari.
“While returning, a verbal argument broke out after Tanshu teased Golu about his girlfriend. This led to heated exchanges,” said a police officer from Kalamna police station. Golu dropped them at the square and left, but the matter did not end there.
Later, Golu’s younger brother Lukman allegedly called Tanshu and abused him over the phone. When Tanshu, Ritik, and their friend Salim Bhai went to Parvati Nagar square to resolve the issue, the situation escalated. Golu, along with his father and brothers, attacked the trio with rods and knives.
“In the attack, Ritik Patle was repeatedly hit on the head and suffered serious injuries.
He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead,” said Senior Police Inspector Praveen Kale. Tanshu and Salim sustained minor injuries, while Shivprasad Nagpure, Sangita Nagpure and Tanshu Nagpure were also injured during the chaos.
DCP Zone 5 Niketan Kadam visited the spot and reviewed the investigation. “The accused were under the influence of alcohol. The dispute started over personal remarks about girlfriends, which resulted in murder,” a senior police official said. A case has been registered based on the complaint filed by Tanshu Nagpure. Further investigation is on.
