Yash Dhurve slammed a superb hat-trick as City Police rallied from a goal down to thrash Central Railways in a high-scoring Super League match of JSW Super Division at NDFA Football Stadium on Monday evening.
The win kept City Police’s hopes of making final alive.
They had a bad start to the Super League as they were stunned by KGN 1-0 in their first match.
Regrouping themselves, the cops produced a much better performance to thrash the railmen 7-2. But it was a bad start for City Police who were on the backfoot in the 13th minute after Ritesh Ponglu fired in the first goal for Central Railway.
The shocker helped the railmen wake up from slumber as they drew parity immediately through Dhurve’s first goal (16th).
Arjun Yadav then gave policemen lead for the first time in the match scoring team’s second goal in the 24th minute.
They managed to stretch the lead further in the first half with Abdul Akid scoring the third goal in the 36th minute as they changed the ends with a two-goal cushion.
In the second half, the policemen continued their goal scoring spree firing in four more.
Rupesh Atram scored City’s Police’s fourth goal in the 74th and Azhar Sheikh (75th) scored another a minute later after Saheb Singh Bhasin (68th) had added one for the railmen.
Dhurve then completed his hat-trick bulging the net in 71st and 88th minutes.
In the Senior Division league encounter, Ansari FC defeated Gohar by a solitary goal scored by Pranam Ganveer in the 45th minute of play.
