MADHYA Pradesh is taking a
major step to make its cities
smarter, greener, and more citizen-focused with the creation
of four professional divisions
within Madhya Pradesh Urban
Development Company Limited
(MPUDCL).
Chief Minister Dr Mohan
Yadav announced the move on
Tuesday during 11th board meeting of the company, saying the
divisions will help strengthen
city finances, encourage private
investment, improve urban
mobility, and enhance citizen
services.
The four divisions –
Asset Management and PPP
Mode, Information Technology,
Urban Mobility and Namami
Narmada, and Green and River
Conservation – have clear priorities.
The Asset Management and
PPP division will make urban
local bodies self-reliant and promote private investment, while
the IT division will focus on smart
city services like the e-Nagar
Palika platform, CCTV monitoring, and online citizen services.
The Urban Mobility and
Namami Narmada division will
implement electric vehicle infrastructure, build multi-level parking, develop public bicycle services, and improve riverfront
areas, and the Green and River
Conservation division will focus
on environmental protection
and holistic development along
rivers.
Chief Minister Dr Yadav also
emphasised that urban development plans should align with
the vision of “Developed India
@2047”, and called for coordinated efforts across departments
including Urban Development,
Panchayat and Rural
Development, Industries, and
Forest & Environment. Officials
said the move aims to make cities
more efficient, citizen-friendly,
and financially strong, while promoting sustainable development
and private investment.
