RAIPUR Municipal Corporation
Mayor Meenal Choubey performed the ‘bhoomipujan’ ceremony for the construction of two
new aspirational public toilets in
the city. Each 10-seater toilet will
be built at an approved cost of
approximately 30 lakh rupees.
One of the aspirational toilets
will be constructed near the Shri
Jagannath Temple in Sarovar
Gayatri Nagar, under the Netaji
Subhash Chandra Bose ward of
Zone 3 in the Raipur North
Assembly constituency.
The second facility will come up near the
New Garden area of Swami
Vivekananda Sarovar
Budhatalab, under the Swami
Vivekananda Sadar Bazaar ward
of Zone 4.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Raipur North
MLA Purandar Mishra, Raipur
South MLA Sunil Soni, MIC members Gayatri Sunil Chandrakar,
Sanjana Santosh Hiyal and Amar
Gidwani, Zone 4 Chairperson
Murli Sharma, Netaji Subhash
Chandra Bose ward councilor
Pushpa Rohit Sahu,
Brahmanpara ward councilor
Ajay Sahu, dignitaries, social
workers and local citizens were
also present on the occasion.
The
ceremony was formally conducted by breaking a coconut
and performing the ritual spade
work. Mayor said the new facilities near the Jagannath Temple
in Gayatri Nagar and the Swami
Vivekananda Sarovar Budhatalab
New Garden would significantly enhance public convenience
and contribute to maintaining
cleanliness and a healthy environment in the city.
