STATE Congress Media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla has taken a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government in the State after the State Government was forced to issue clarifications for organising the National Rover-Ranger Jamboree to be held in Balod district from January 9 to 13. Talking to mediapersons at state Congress party office Rajiv Bhawan in the State Capital on Wednesday, Sushil Anand Shukla, State Congress Media Chief, questioned the legitimacy of School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav’s claim to be President of the Chhattisgarh State Council of Scouts and Guides.

He noted that Raipur Lok Sabha Member Brijmohan Agrawal, who also claims the position, had announced the cancellation of an upcoming event. Shukla alleged that factionalism has peaked under BJP rule in the State and urged the government to clarify the true president. It may be noted that the National Rover-Ranger Jamboree is scheduled from January 9 to 13 at Dudhli in Balod district.

Chairman of State Congress Medical Department, Dr Rakesh Gupta, claimed that Yadav’s nomination as president violates rules and pointed to irregularities in event organisation. “We demand that the Bharat Scouts and Guides National Jamboree be immediately postponed, as evidence of massive corruption is emerging,” Gupta said. State Congress General Secretary Subodh Haritwal, State Congress Senior Spokesman Dhananjay Singh Thakur, Nitin Bhansali, Satya Prakash Singh and other Congress leaders were present in the press conference.
