In the upcoming municipal elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has given top priority to ‘discipline’ and ‘party loyalty’. However, 32 BJP members who are working against the party’s official candidates or contesting the elections against them are being suspended from party for 6 years for indiscipline and engaging in anti-party activities. Those faced action include Sunita Mahalle from Ward 1; Devraj Wasnik from Ward 2; Nasimabanu from Ward 3; Sachin Khobragade and Suresh Tembhare from Ward 4; Mahendra Gupta and Pushpa Kirpane from Ward 5; Runal Chauhan from Ward 9; Sunil Agrawal from Ward 14; Vinayak Dehankar from Ward 17; Dhiraj Chavan and Akshay Thawkar from Ward 18; Prakash Ghate and Papa Yadav from Ward 19; Vishal Larokar from Ward 20; Shubham Maudekar, Sulochana Kove and Rakesh Bhanarkar from Ward 21; Ravishankar Kumbhare, Dashrath Maske, Ashish Bhute and Nandini Bhute from Ward 22; Tekchand Sonboir, Nandu Ahir, Renu Gendare, Shubham Padole and Raju Ghose from Ward 24; Sunil Manapure from Ward 26; Sonali Ghodmare from Ward 31; Deepak Chaudhary from Ward 32; Asavari Kothiwan and Sunil Manekar from Ward 34. Giving more details, BJP city President Dayashankar Tiwari clarified, “The Bharatiya Janata Party is a party of disciplined workers. During elections, the party’s order is final. Anyone who does not work for the party’s official candidate or engages in covert activities against the party will not be spared. After this suspension, the said individuals will have no connection with any programme, position, or campaign of the Bharatiya Janata Party. All office bearers and workers should take note of this and work diligently for the victory of the official candidate.”
