CHAIRMAN of Chhattisgarh State Waqf Board
Dr Salim Raj paid a courtesy visit to Union
Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju in
New Delhi.
During the meeting detailed discussions
were held on protection of Waqf properties
and issues related to skill development of
Muslim youth. While interacting with Union
Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Dr
Salim Raj briefed about matters related to
the Waqf Board.
He said that the Chhattisgarh State Waqf
Board has completed the process of uploading details of Waqf properties on the ‘Umeed
Portal’ and so far more than 95 per cent of
the properties are registered on the portal.
He further said that this initiative will ensure
transparent management of Waqf properties and help society gain greater benefits
from these properties.
During the meeting, the need for coordination at both Central and State levels for
the protection, development and better utilisation of Waqf properties was also discussed.
In addition, the Union Minister Kiren
Rijiju agreed to the proposal of establishing
training centres for skill development of
Muslim youth.
