MADHYA Pradesh experienced cold and dry weather across the State during the last 24 hours, With several districts recording temperatures below 5°C. Khajuraho in Chhatarpur district recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 3.2°C, followed closely by Kalyanpur (Shahdol) at 3.4°C, Rewa at 4.1°C, Chitrakoot (Satna) and Datia at 4.2°C, and Rajgarh at 4.6°C. Meanwhile, maximum temperatures remained relatively mild, with Seoni recording the highest at 27.2°C and Indore at 26.8°C. The State continues to feel the impact of a cold wave, particularly in Shahdol and Chhatarpur (Khajuraho), while Rewa, Tikamgarh, Niwari, and Datia districts experienced a Cold Day.

Chhatarpur (Khajuraho and Nowgong) saw a Severe Cold Day, signalling unusually low temperatures for the region. Dense fog was reported in parts of Gwalior and Datia, with moderate to shallow fog in districts like Shivpuri, Sidhi, and Nowgong, reducing visibility on roads and potentially affecting rail and air travel. In Bhopal, the day started cool with a minimum temperature of 11.8°C at 8:30 am, while the maximum reached 23.4°C in the last 24 hours and minimum temperature hanging around 9°C. Humidity levels were around 86% in the morning, creating a hazy sky, and the wind was gentle at 8-10 kmph, keeping conditions calm.

No rainfall was recorded, and temperatures were slightly below the seasonal average, with maximums about 1-2°C below normal. Meteorologists attribute the cold conditions in the Western Disturbance as an upper-air cyclonic circulation over north Punjab, combined with a subtropical westerly jet stream over north India with core winds around 260 kmph at high altitude.

This system has kept the state dry but chilly, with temperatures expected to rise gradually by 2–3°C over the next four days. Residents are advised to take precautions during the cold wave: wear adequate warm clothing, cover head, fingers, and toes, and avoid unnecessary travel in areas with dense fog. Farmers are recommended to protect crops and livestock from cold winds and maintain proper ventilation and warm water for animals.
