Gauri Chandrayan, Member of National Executive Body of Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat passed away on Thursday after a prolonged illness. She was 67. She leaves behind husband Dilip Chandrayan, two sons Kapil, former Member of Vidarbha Statutory Development Board and an Economist and Ambarish and a host of relatives and friends to mourn the loss. Last rites were performed at Sahakar Nagar ghat.
A condolence meeting was held in presence of Ravindra Bhusari, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh; Ashok Trivedi, Grahak Panchayat and Vasantrao Pimpalapure, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh.
Gauri Chandrayan was the Member of the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL), Nagpur Urban Zone and worked as a Judicial Member in District Consumer Redressal Forum, Nagpur. She was also a Member of Railway Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC), All India Grahak Panchayat and Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat, Nagpur. Gauri Chandrayan had a vast experience in the field of consumer rights and had been working towards the protection of consumer rights for many years.
She played a key role in various consumer redressal forums and helped in solving many consumer complaints. She was a well-respected member of the consumer rights community and her work has been instrumental in safeguarding the rights of consumers.
Chandrayan was also the Director of Purti Super Bazar and social worker.
