FORMER MLA Kuldeep Juneja is
inaugurating the Silk Weaves
Expo at Guru Teg Bahadur Hall,
Raipur on Thursday.
The grand Wedding Special
Edition of Silk Weaves Expo commenced at Gutu Teg Bahadur
Hall, Civil Lines, Raipur on
Thursday. Former MLA Kuldeep
Singh was the Chief guest and
inaugurated the expo.
A large number of eminent citizens, women and fashion enthusiasts of the city were present on
the occasion.
Speaking at the inauguration,
Chief guest Kuldeep Juneja said
that events like Silk Weaves Expo
provide a strong platform to
India’s rich handloom tradition
and create a direct connection
between artisans and customers.
He congratulated the organisers
for successfully hosting such a
grand and meaningful event. The
organisers of Silk Weaves Expo
said that Silk Weaves Expo is
India’s largest silk expo and also
its final edition of the year. They
further said that exhibitors which
includes 80 per cent weavers
from 22 states directly participating and set-up their stalls.
This platform provides opportunity to weavers to sell their self
made items directly to the customers. Special attraction of the
expo is the availability of items
at ‘Direct Weaver’s Price’.
Lohri
Special suits are also introduced
for the Punjabi Community girls
and women, they added. The
exhibition showcases an exclusive and extensive collection of
silk sarees crafted by weavers and
artisans from across the country. The major attractions include
Banarasi, Kanchipuram, Kosa
Silk, Bengaluru Silk, Jamdani and
Wedding Special sarees.
In addition, a wide range of shawls,
stoles, linens, wedding ethnics
and other handcrafted products
are also on display. Participation
of skilled artisans from Kolkata,
Banaras, Tamil Nadu, Andhra
Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra,
Odisha, Assam and several other states makes this expo special.
The exhibition will run from
January 8 to 19 and the daily timing is 11am to 9pm. Entry and
parking are completely free.
