PREPARATIONS for the Republic
Day celebrations to be held on
January 26, have gathered pace,
with the district administration
intensifying efforts to ensure that
the national festival is celebrated in a dignified, disciplined, and
well-organised manner.
In this regard, Divisional
Commissioner Sanjeev Singh has
directed all departments to complete their assigned responsibilities by January 24, well in
advance of the main ceremony.
The directions were issued
during a review meeting held on
Thursday at the Commissioner’s
Office auditorium, where
arrangements related to the
Republic Day celebrations were
discussed in detail.
Singh emphasised that timely completion of
all works is essential to avoid any
last-minute changes or modifications. He stated that Republic
Day is a symbol of national pride
and unity and should be celebrated with full seriousness and
enthusiasm.
During the meeting, special
emphasis was laid on arrangements for guests, dignitaries, and
the general public. The Divisional
Commissioner instructed officials to ensure proper seating
arrangements and systematic
parking facilities so that no inconvenience is caused to attendees.
The Municipal Corporation
and the Public Works
Department were directed to
work in close coordination to
strengthen infrastructure and
ensure smooth movement and
accessibility at the venue.
Reviewing arrangements for
participating school children,
Singh directed the School
Education Department to ensure
adequate, hygienic, and timely
food arrangements.
With regard
to cultural programmes and
tableaux, the Culture
Department was instructed to
strictly follow the approved
schedule, ensure timely movement of tableaux, and complete all programmes within
the prescribed time frame.
The meeting was attended by
Collector Kaushalendra Vikram
Singh, Commandant of the 25th
Battalion Rajesh Singh Chandel,
Deputy Commissioner
(Revenue) Kiran Gupta, Joint
Deputy Commissioner
(Development) Vinod Yadav,
along with officers from Revenue,
Public Works, Education, Public
Relations, Municipal
Corporation, Home Guard,
Police, Electricity, and other concerned departments.
