A PRIVATE electricity worker was electrocuted while working on operational electricity line near Sai Mandir, Civil Line area under the jurisdiction of Civil Line police station, on Wednesday. Dhirendra Kushwaha, JE informed that line maintenance work is underway in Civil Line area by private contract agency. Following the maintenance works, 33 KV line was shut down near Sai Mandir and Sainath substation areas on the intimation of private contractor named Shailendra Chourasia.

 

The incident took place when contractual workers inclined on electricity pole of operational composite electricity line of 33/11 KV without giving any intimation to concerned sub-station. One of the employee sustained electricity shock and fell down on the ground. The worker succumbed to his grave injuries on the spot. Receiving the information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
