Shrishti Sharma, a talented limbo skater who has been promoting the message of women’s empowerment and girls’ education through the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign for several years, achieved another remarkable milestone on Friday on Umred–Sev Road.

In the category Fastest Time to Limbo Skate Under Descending Poles Over 50 Metres, Shrishti surpassed her own previous performance by completing the 50-metre course in an impressive 6.86 seconds.

 

In the process she broke her own record with the official Guinness World Records verification is pending.

In 2025, Shrishti recorded a time of 7.46 seconds in the same category at Saidham City. On Friday, she improved her previous time, completing the course in 6.86 seconds. Her achievement reflects her dedication, discipline, consistent practice and determination to continually improve her performance.

 

The event was attended by Vidyasagar Chauhan, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Umred; Mohan Krishna Ravi, Sub-Area Manager, Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), Umred; and Jyoti Gaydhane.

The programme was compered by Advocate Surendra Mishra. Siddhi and Animesh Shrivastava were the timekeepers. Shrishti’s mother, Shikha Priyadarshini Sharma, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed directly or indirectly to the successful execution of the record attempt.

 

She thanked all the supporters, organisers, well-wishers and individuals whose cooperation, encouragement and good wishes helped motivate Shrishti and supported her efforts to achieve this milestone.
