The West Zone Challengers Cup Cricket Tournament for visually impaired got under way at Central Railways Ajni ground.
The meet was inaugurated by Arun Singh, ADRM, Central Railway, Nagpur.
Six teams from across the West Zone are participating in the tournament.
Group A comprises Goa, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, while Group B includes Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Vidarbha.
The tournament is organised by Association for Promotion of Blind Cricket in Vidarbha (APBCV), with valuable support from MLA Mohan Mate, NMC Commissioner, Rotary Club of North Nagpur, Atmadeepam Society Nagpur, Adani Institute of Higher Education and Research, R Sandesh Group, Growmore Ventures, Central Railway and Jaipuriya.
Rtn Nand Tahilyani, President; Rtn Kamlesh Chotwani, Enclave Secretary; Rtn Sumit Choithani, Club Secretary; Rtn Shyam Wadhwani, Club Secretary; Rtn Vinay Dara, Additional Secretary (Digital); and Rtn Hashu Ambwani, Past President were present during the inaugural function.
Representing the Association for Promotion of Blind Cricket in Vidarbha (APBCV), the dignitaries present on the dais included Jidnyasa Chawaldhal, President; Anjali Sakharkar, Secretary; Yogeshwar Chawaldhal, Joint Secretary and Gurudas Raut, CABMP President.
Results: Rajasthan beat Vidarbha by 18 runs. Madhya Pradesh bt Goa by 59 runs. Rajasthan bt Gujarat by 34 runs.
