RAIPUR :
INDIRA Gandhi Krishi
Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) has
agreed to provide free re-evaluation of answer sheets for affected students and increase the
limit for re-evaluation from two
to four subjects following
complaints of alleged irregularities in recently declared examination results.
An Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi
Parishad (ABVP) delegation submitted a memorandum to the
university’s Vice-Chancellor on
Monday, seeking immediate
action to address students’ grievances. The university also agreed
to allow students, accompanied
by their parents, to visit the campus and inspect their evaluated
answer sheets. Formal orders have been issued regarding
these decisions, according to the information provided by
ABVP. The controversy intensified after reports emerged
that 100 out of 107 students at Kanker Agricultural College
had failed their examinations. Students from other agricultural colleges have also raised concerns, alleging that
some were marked absent despite appearing for examinations, while others were declared unsuccessful or placed
in ATKT (backlog) status in six to eight subjects.
ABVP demanded immediate verification of examination
records and correction of results wherever errors were
found. Its memorandum also sought free re-evaluation,
photocopies of evaluated answer sheets, an impartial inquiry
into the alleged irregularities and appropriate action against
examiners or evaluation centres found responsible for negligence. The delegation further urged the university to
expand the number of subjects eligible for re-evaluation,
arguing that students should not suffer academically because
of possible errors in the evaluation process.
ABVP Chhattisgarh State Joint Secretary Pratham Rao
Phutane said serious concerns had emerged over the examination results. He recalled that the organisation had recently protested after 100 of the 107 students at Kanker
Agricultural College were declared unsuccessful. Following
the protest, students from several agricultural colleges
across the state approached ABVP with similar complaints,
prompting the delegation to meet the Vice-Chancellor.
Those present during the submission of the memorandum included ABVP IGKV unit president and district coordinator Shivam Yogi, along with activists Prem Sahu, Rahul
Sharma, Siddharth Singh and Mansi Yadav.
