Staff Reporter :
BUS travel in Madhya Pradesh
is going digital on the lines of railway’s IRCTC. The State
Government is developing a
mobile app under
Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan
Seva for online bus ticket booking. The app, being built by MP
Yatri Parivahan and
Infrastructure Ltd (MP-YPIL), will
let passengers choose route,
boarding point and destination
and book tickets from home. The
pilot will start from Bhopal and
Indore ISBTs. The move follows
the September 26 launch at BHEL
Dussehra Ground, Bhopal, where
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav
and Union Minister Nitin
Gadkari flagged off 351 buses
across seven cities, Bhopal,
Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, Dewas,
Katni and Bhind. It marked the
revival of State-run bus services
after 21 years.
The long-term target is 15,000 buses on 3,500 routes
to cover 75% gram panchayats.
The state has been sanctioned
972 buses under PM e-Bus Seva.
In a safety push, GPS tracking,
CCTV cameras and panic buttons
have been made mandatory,
along with 24x7 helpline and
online grievance redressal.
Timetables are already available
on the PWD’s Lokpath App.
The Government has also
announced 38 new driving training centres, including five regional centres at Bhopal, Gwalior,
Ujjain, Chhatarpur and Betul.
Officials said that the app
name and payment details will
be notified soon. Passengers are
advised to avoid unverified links.
