BIRTHDAY celebrations, prewedding events and kitty parties can now be organised on Bhopal Metro trains under the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited’s (MPMRCL) ‘Celebration on Wheels’ policy. A coach can be booked for Rs 7,000 per hour, excluding taxes, with a refundable security deposit of Rs 20,000. Each event can accommodate up to 50 people. Organisers responsible for safety: Under the policy, organisers must take responsibility for injuries to participants, passengers or metro staff, as well as damage to property during an event. They must submit an indemnity bond on Rs 100 stamp paper and ensure that celebrations do not involve violence, unruly behaviour or actions that could cause injury. Restrictions on hazardous items: Firecrackers, weapons, explosives, alcohol, intoxicants and inflammable materials are prohibited.

 

Metro authorities can stop an event or cancel a booking if it is likely to affect safety, operations or public order. Metro to probe incidents: Metro officials said that any accident or damage during an event would be investigated. If negligence by the metro administration is established, responsibility would be fixed and action taken under applicable rules. The organiser’s role would also be examined if an incident involved disputes, assault or other misconduct among participants.
