Staff Reporter :
In a major relief for Government nurses, the Madhya Pradesh Health Department has made the entire process for higher education and study leave online, ending years of endless office rounds. According to the order issued by Public Health and Services Department, nursing staff working in Government hospitals and health centres can now directly apply on the official portal for ANM, GNM, Post Basic B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing courses. The new system will be implemented from the academic session 2026-27.
For online application, employees must have their service record updated on the e-HRMS portal with a linked mobile number, as authentication will be done through OTP.
Only regular employees who have completed five years of government service and probation period are eligible. For Post Basic B.Sc and M.Sc courses, valid registration with the MP Nurses Registration Council is mandatory. Regular staff will not be eligible for admission to private nursing colleges. Study leave will be granted only once during the entire service career. Leave balance available in account will be paid, the remaining period will be unpaid. After completing studies, nurses will have to serve in government service for five years, for which a bond of Rs 5 lakh will have to be submitted to the Chief Medical and Health Officer. The process will be completed in two phases. In the first phase, CMHOs will verify documents from October 13 to 22 and forward eligible applications to the State level. In the second phase, final scrutiny and sanction will be done in Bhopal from October 13 to 23. The department has directed that all eligible employees be relieved from their workplace by October 28.
