Bhopal Crime Branch detained a man on suspicion of drug trafficking near the rear gate of the district court during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Police claimed to have seized around 4 grams of mephedrone (MD), estimated to be worth Rs 1 lakh, from his possession. The suspect has been identified as Mukul Dholpure, a resident of Jahangirabad. During questioning, he reportedly claimed to be a practising lawyer at the Bhopal district court. Police are verifying his claim and checking whether he is a registered advocate. Supply Network Under Investigation: According to police, the Crime Branch acted on a tip-off that a man was waiting near the court’s rear gate to deliver narcotics. A team reached the spot and detained the suspect, recovering the suspected drug during a search.Police are questioning him to establish where he procured the substance and to whom he intended to deliver it. Investigators are also examining his contacts and possible links to a wider drug supply network, including whether he was involved in similar activities earlier.
