With Durga idols installed at around 1850 locations across the city, Jabalpur traffic police have introduced an extensive traffic diversion plan for Saptami, Ashtami and Navami to manage heavy crowds expected from evening until late at night.
The entry of four and three-wheelers has been prohibited
on roads leading to major temples, busy markets and crowded intersections. Police have advised residents to use alternative routes, adding that two-wheelers may also be diverted and routes could be modified depending on the situation.
Around Badi Khermai Temple, vehicles will be restricted from Bhan Talaiya, Bakra Market and Anwarganj. Access to Budhi Khermai Temple will be restricted from Machhli Market, Miloniganj Chowk and Charkhamba. For Mahakali
idols at Gadhaphatak and Padav, designated entry points
will remain closed to three and four-wheelers.
Restrictions will also apply near Kachhpura Mahakali, Sunrahai and Nunhai. Diversions will be enforced
at designated crossings to prevent congestion and ensure
safe movement of devotees
on foot.
In the Bada Fuhara area, vehicles will be restricted from Super Bazaar, Kachiyana Crossing, Ganjipura, Tularam Chowk and Pandey Chowk. Similar restrictions will apply to entry points leading to Sadar Bazaar.
Passenger buses operating on all routes will run from the ISBT Deendayal terminal via the Patan-Katangi bypass and will not be allowed to enter the city. Heavy vehicles will also face entry restrictions through designated bypasses, including Patan, Katangi, Amkhera, Andhmook, Bargi Hills, Sagda, Ekta Market, Maharajpur and Khamaria.
Emergency services, including ambulances and fire engines, will remain exempt from
the restrictions.
