The annual election of the Kalamna Dhanyaganj Aadtiya Mandal was recently conducted under the chairmanship of Arjunrao Vairagade. The election proceedings were supervised by Rajubabu Umate and Moreshwar Ghatole. Although holding an election this year was not strictly necessary, it had to be conducted as an opposition panel stepped into the fray. APMC Director Atul Senad has held various key positions over the last 25 years in the Kalamna Dhanyaganj Aadtiya Mandal, making invaluable contributions to the development of the market.

 

He has consistently taken the initiative to address and resolve the issues faced by commission agents and traders in the Kalamna market, ensuring fairness and striving to maintain unity. Serving as a Director of the Nagpur APMC continuously for the past 15 years, he has ensured the smooth functioning of market operations. This year, after the Maharashtra Government granted National Market status to the Nagpur Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC), commission agents and small traders face potential challenges. Recognising the need for an experienced and responsible leader as President to navigate these issues, fellow commission agents voted decisively, electing Atul Senad with a massive majority. The victory was celebrated enthusiastically with gulal (colored powder). Attendees welcomed and congratulated the newly elected President with floral garlands, after which the newly elected President expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all members.
