The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Nagpur Branch Office, celebrated World Standards Day 2026 here in the city recently. The programme commenced with a welcome address by. Nisha Kanbargi, Joint Director, BIS Nagpur. Subsequently, Raunak Sukhadeve, Joint Director, BIS Nagpur, presented the messages from ISO, IEC and ITU, along with an overview of the World Standards Day theme. Dr Manoj Kumar Rajak, Director and Head, BIS Nagpur Branch Office, addressed the objectives of the programme.

 

Ramchandra Ranganath Ukirde, Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (NPTI), was the chief guest of the programme who explained recent energy scenario of India and world, and explained the hurdles in it and the way forward. The inaugural programme was followed by technical sessions delivered by eminent experts from academic and research institutions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Tapan Kumar Haldar, Joint Director, BIS Nagpur.
